Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a doctor’s referral for physiotherapy?

No. Physiotherapists are primary healthcare providers, meaning you can book directly without a referral. Some insurance plans may require a referral for reimbursement, so we recommend checking with your provider.

What should I expect during my first appointment?

Your initial assessment includes a discussion about your symptoms, goals, medical history, and a physical examination. Treatment may include hands-on therapy, exercise prescription, education, and a personalized recovery plan.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Comfortable clothing that allows movement and access to the area being treated is recommended. Athletic wear or loose-fitting clothing is ideal.

What conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide rangeof musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions including sports injuries, neck and back pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, tendon injuries, workplace injuries, and motor vehicle accident injuries.

Will I receive exercises to do at home?

Yes. Exercise and active rehabilitation are an important part of recovery, and individualized home programs are often provided to support progress between visits.

How many treatments will I need?

Recovery timelines vary depending on the condition, severity, goals, and individual factors. Your physiotherapist will discuss a recommended treatment plan during your assessment.

Is physiotherapy painful?

Treatment should be manageable and tailored to your comfort level. Some techniques or exercises may temporarily reproduce symptoms, but treatment is always adjusted based on your response and goals.

Do you offer direct billing?

Direct billing may be available for select insurance providers. Please contact the clinic for details regarding your specific coverage.

Do you treat WPNL and motor vehicle accident claims?

Yes. We work with workplace and motor vehicle accident injuries and can assist with rehabilitation and claim-related documentation when appropriate.
